God's gifts from a hard day

From Saturday...
- Taking Adrianna school supply shopping for the very first time
- A fresh hair cut

- Abel making a game of trying on Adrianna's new socks on the way home
- Adrianna entertaining herself with her new socks all the way home (forty-five minutes)

From Sunday...
- Making a fun breakfast for the kids, with a new muffin recipe
- Scott taking the kids to Sunday school, and me getting a little time by myself

- Adrianna wanting to make an easy reader book during her rest time

- Two sweet companions finally at home together
- Scott's parents coming to give us landscaping ideas

- Scott's dad helping to remove one of our scraggly trees

- Adrianna asking for our bottle of juice and some cups to share with all her neighbor friends in the street
- Sharing a crock of beans with my in-laws

- Trying a new recipe for gluten-free wraps... Yummy!

- Adrianna's excitement of showing Grandma her new school supplies
- Abel + firetruck + Grandpa's boots
- Sharing popsicles
- Adrianna wearing an adult shirt for a night gown
- Abel branching out from his two favorite books to read a Hermie book from Max Lucado
- Grandpa doing "This little piggy" with Adrianna because he did it with Abel
- Reading Hachiko Waits with Adrianna... and crying over it

From Monday...
Today was a hard day.  Last night, I heard Adrianna reading her books several times throughout the night and early morning, so apparently she slept poorly.  Her lack of sleep-grouchiness seemed to have a ripple among Abel and me, and it was a difficult day to maintain a joyful spirit.

What a necessary time to find God's moments...

- Abel speeding Adrianna back and forth through the kitchen
- Adrianna and Abel finding new ways to play with the ball pop-up tent
- Sharing dinner with my in-laws and Scott's aunt and her friend

- Scott's aunt Margaret meeting Abel for the first time

- Aunt Margaret's friend Margaret helping Adrianna with her knitting doll
- Abel's-Grandpa boot rides

And from today...

- Completing another VBS morning at church, marveling at God's gift of some many faithful, helpful volunteers leading sweet children closer to Jesus

- Attending our church's crafter-noon, learning to make composition book covers

- Adrianna using her notebook that she made at VBS to jot down notes: "Abel and I were fighting.  Marianne made a notebook cover."
- Washable crayons, that actually wiped right off the church's tile foyer (after Abel tried out his new crayon on them)
- Adrianna helping Abel decorate his new VBS notebook... and trying to tease us into believing that Abel helped make the picture of himself
- Taking a walk, with Adrianna riding without training wheels, and Abel riding his glide bike the whole way

AHH, Adrianna is shopping for my favorite school supplies-art supplies. I just love a really big box of brand new crayons! I buy a new one every year whether I need it or not!
