We tasted so many of God's blessings this week, I wanted to put them down before they were forgotten... - When Abel's babysitter let us know that she could not watch Abel Wednesday because she had sick kids, my mother-in-law cancelled her plans to watch him for the day. - The next day, when his sitter still couldn't watch him, we asked a neighbor to watch him.  We got a call at 10:15 Wednesday night that the neighbor had sick kids, too.  So on Thursday morning, at an early 7:15, I called a sweet friend from church who had volunteered to watch Abel, should we ever need it.  She changed her plans, and made herself available to watch him, even taking him to a program at her child's school and then bringing him back to my classroom at the end of the day. - Last weekend, Scott and my father-in-law, Steve, went to install our new microwave.  A few weeks ago, our six-year-old microwave died suddenly.  God blessed us by allowing us to use our toaster oven and sto...

The sermon at church yesterday was one of those where you leave feeling like, "Oh, sorry, everyone else, that was for me!" Before our sermons, our pastor has been reading a chapter every week from the letters to the Corinthians.  We just happened to get to chapter 12 in 2 Corinthians yesterday, where Paul explains to the Corinthians... Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me.   And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.   Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake.
