Milk

You may recall that this fall, we discovered that Adrianna has a milk allergy. (See Milk A-Plenty for more.)  As the fall went by, we learned that everything that accidentally made it into her body that had milk (granola bars, hot dog buns, etc.), irritated her body, and gave her a rash under her mouth.  We also began to wonder if she had any other food allergies, since we know friends and family members with allergies, and they seem to come in multiples.  (Adrianna's dark circles under her eyes made us wonder about more possible allergies, too.)

Finally, I put two and two together, and remembered that the doctor I saw last year for my seasonal allergies also treats food allergies.  At the time he treated me, I asked about his treatment for food allergies.  He said that sometimes, he is able to treat for them with full success, and sometimes with partial success.  He is an unusual doctor in the sense that he does Total Body Modification, which I had not heard of that until last spring.  Apparently, it works holistically, using knowledge from acupuncture of the body's pressure points.  As one of the articles I read about it explains, when your body has a problem for a while (infection, irritation, and so on), one of your organs may stop responding to it, and like a circuit board, it may "flip it's switch."  The Total Body Modification process works to "reboot" the circuit or circuits that have been switched off.  Sounds crazy, but it sure worked for me!

As I drove Adrianna to her appointment yesterday, she admitted she was a little nervous.  I was able to explain to her the methods the doctor had used with me last year, and that gave her some comfort.  We went into the office together, and the doctor adjusted Adrianna first.  The doctor said that by the way Adrianna's body was reacting, she could tell that Adrianna was having trouble processing sugar.

She then tested various foods with Adrianna's body, to see reactions.  Interestingly, Adrianna had no response to milk!  The doctor explained to Adrianna that it was like a mystery we had to solve, to discover what it was that was bothering her systems.  After trying many more allergens, both foods, plants, and things that cows eat and are treated with, the doctor learned that Adrianna was showing reactions to rBST (the hormone given to cows to produce more milk) and to a grain combination fed to cows.  She also reacted to casein, which occurs most in cheese.  As the doctor kept probing, she learned that Adrianna also had a reaction to the Polio vaccine and one of the other vaccines (I didn't catch which one).  She explained that if Adrianna's systems had been irritated by those vaccines from a very young age, she was more likely to respond with allergies to other things (like milk ingredients).

Using the unique body modification methods, the doctor treated Adrianna for the vaccine irritations and for the three parts of milk bothering her.  We are fascinated to see how Adrianna's body will respond moving forward.  We will slowly reintroduce milk products, to find if there is any reaction.

I talked with another mom today, who said that her son was treated by this doctor's office for food allergies, too.  His body's response was that some of the foods stopped bothering him altogether, some caused less reaction than before, and one still causes an allergy.

WOW!! That will be so awesome if it helps your sweet Anna! :)

About 10 years ago one of the students in my 3rd grade class was REALLY, I mean REALLY allergic to peanuts. Even wallking into a room where someone had eaten them would make his throat begin to close.

His mom mentioned something similar to what you are describing that actually illiminated ALL peanut reations! I was so shocked to hear that he was "healed" by this but so excited that his life could be much more normal again.

Please keep us posted!
