Prayer for our journey

If you'd like to join with us in prayer for our journey to our child, here are some of the things we're asking our Heavenly Father for...

- Safe travels:  Scott and I are leaving for Uganda, to pick up our son W-- (we are not at liberty to post his name yet). Scott will be returning early to care for Adrianna and Abel.  And W-- and I will be returning, Lord-willing, after a month.

- Favorable court date:  A couple of days after our arrival, Scott and I will be going to court in Uganda, where the judge will determine whether we are allowed to be W--'s parents.  He does not have to say, "Yes," so we pray for God's favor and grace.

- Adrianna and Abel:  They will be staying with my in-laws while we are away, and we are asking for God's peace upon their hearts as they wait.

- For W--'s transition to our care:  W-- will greet us at the airport, and will remain in our care thereafter.  We are asking for God's grace for a smooth transition, as he may not know much English, and probably does not fully understand that we will be his parents.  We ask for God's grace in the bonding/attachment process that occurs as he develops feelings of trust for us, and for grace for us as Scott and I learn to parent him.

- For friendships with the other two families traveling from New Mexico with us:  We will be spending many hours in companionship with these families, and we long to be an encouragement and support to each another.

- For health: We ask for God's protection from illnesses and for me to not get motion sickness during travel.

- To be God's light in Uganda: We have potential opportunities to share of God's grace among the peoples in Uganda, and we long to do so faithfully and in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Praise be to God for His adoption of us into His family!
