God's blessings from the Christmas season

We decided to stay home for the whole Christmas season this year, since we did not know if we would get the call to pick up our new son in Uganda.  Alas, we did not, but Lord-willing, we hope to hear of our court date before too many more weeks go by.

Here are some of the sweet moments of blessing from our Christmas celebrations...

- Adrianna and Abel opening stocking presents

- Our Christmas morning traditional breakfast: bacon, eggs, waffles, berries, and coconut milk "cool whip"
... This year, we even added "coconog" (coconut milk egg nog - yum!)

- Acting out the Christmas story using our nativity set
- Abel's presents from us: "robot arm" and stilts proving popular with both Abel and Adrianna
- Abel enjoying Grandpa's BBQ ribs
- A little Christmas day football play in the cold
- Exchanging presents with Scott family

- Making snowflakes with the family and stringing them around the rooms
- Eagerly making the cinnamon roll recipe I'd saved for Christmas for months
... And it not going over very well with the kids!
- Christmas Eve service at church
... And relishing the sweetness of family gathering and the beauty of Jesus' incarnation
... And coming out of the service to a fresh layer of new snow
- Driving to look at the Christmas lights in the falling snow

- My sweeties sharing snacks in their together chair
- More craft times
- Taking family pictures before heading to one of my student's open house Christmas party
... And Abel asking who's birthday the party was for
... And us deciding to tell him it was for Jesus' birthday :)
- Morning-after-Christmas puzzle time

- The kids setting up a "gas station" for Abel's new remote control car from his grandparents
- Trying for some family photos
(Couldn't get the lighting quite right on the one of all of us, because the camera was balanced on a book and the flash reflected)

- Abel enjoying his take-apart tow truck from Scott's brother's family

SUCH CUTENESS!!! :) Oh I LOVE these pics of your sweet peas!! Abel is SO grown up! I love Anna's lips covered with yummy food and the "together chair", what a fun idea! My boys only want to wrestle when sitting next to each other, I covet the idea of something more calm and serene! :)

Btw, your hair is DARLING!! I'm going on Sat to get mine cut...just like yours! :)
