God's gifts from MRI results
As a brief update on the last blog post, I did have my MRI of my back completed last Friday. And today, after a great time laughing with my mother-in-law while trying to perform a series of back stretches, her friend (who taught her the stretches) called right as we finished. The friend is a physical therapist and had some advice for me about dealing with the MRI and doctors and so forth. At her suggestion, I called up the medical center, and discovered that there was a report ready for my MRI. My mother-in-law kindly drove me to pick it up, while my father-in-law sweetly picked up Abel from preschool.
And then I got to see the results... the reason my back has hurt for four months and I have not been able to sit for all this time! I have a bulging disc. Whew. All that speculation that the medical professionals have been throwing around for a few months is true. And apparently the MRI just shows a small bulge. Small or not, I feel it. :) It was truly a relief to receive a name and a cause for the pain.
Now to get some relief... I have an appointment (actually two!) scheduled with the two spine specialists near us on October 10, but I'm sure hoping and praying for some help before then.
Tomorrow I start in the classroom, and the fear of the pain has been almost overwhelming. I've been clinging to the two verses He's brought to me:

Isaiah 41:10 "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."
And Daniel 6:26,27 "For He is the living God, and steadfast forever; His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, and His dominion shall endure to the end. He delivers and rescues, and He works signs and wonders in heaven and on earth, Who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions."
