God's gifts from cherry abundance

God's blessed us with lots of fun in the sun and non-scheduled hours of amusement

- Hot, hot days, but window air conditioning to cool off our house

- Spending a Friday morning at home when Abel woke up not feeling well
... And, of course, electronic toys cheering him up
 - Summer lunches
... And bunches of fresh produce
... And homemade healthier Nutella
 - Small town summer fun
 - Abel getting to play with real play dough for once (not gluten-free)
- Car washing again

- Abel wearing the necklace Adrianna made him from Sculpey
- Finding out Rusty and Ruthie really are friends

- Adrianna using one of the VBS take-home cards to play a "thankful" game
- Adrianna making Sculpey earrings
... And figuring out how to repair a crack on her own
- Getting ready for our summer children's program at church that I lead up on Tuesday mornings
- Front yard dinner with sweet neighbor friends

Extra time with Abel while Adrianna went to VBS
... And trying out a kid's experiment from Pinterest (vinegar and baking soda)

- Abel feeling like a big kid, getting to use the hole punch
 - Adrianna making a space shuttle mobile on her own
- Cherry picking in our own backyard
... And our best cherry crop in seven years

 ... And drying the cherries
... And making gluten-free cherry pie and cherry cobbler
- Dollar store hat-trying
- Three dogs munching dollar store rawhide
- Surprising the kids by taking them to Day out with Thomas the Train

... And cooling down in the trunk of the car for snack time

... And Adrianna and Abel getting into song time with the Thomas musician

- Making chocolate frozen yogurt using goat yogurt
 - Celebrating Father's Day
... And the kids giving Scott his balloons with verses and fun facts about Dad hidden inside
 - Harvesting kale and lettuce from our little garden
- Abel looking like the picture on the fridge
 - Adrianna spending a Sunday afternoon making a door decoration
... And Ruthie getting caught in it
- Abel graduating to a booster seat (when the buckle on his car seat broke)
- Checking out the nest on the grandparents' front porch

- Goat milk making the best milk moustaches
- Enjoying popsicles on hot days (and grandparents bringing them back from their trips as a special treat for Adrianna)
- Finally filling up the backyard pool

... And Adrianna pretending to be the invisible fairy under the slide

... And actually getting to lay in the grass, look up at our baby apples, and read my book (for almost 15 minutes!) :)
... And bringing Matthew out to watch the big kids
- Neighbors sharing their cherry abundance
- Abel playing trains in my bed while I take showers in the morning
- Adrianna being like a magnet to her desk... always heading back to it when she has a free moment, to make more crafts
- Bubble play

... And water shooting play

- God using the circumstances when it seemed like everything was going wrong in my afternoon to create perfect timing for me to run into the one person I needed to talk to at the grocery store

- Adrianna helping me plan a surprise for celebrating our Family Day (Family Day celebrates picking Abel up in Ethiopia two years ago)

... And her helping me pit cherries for the gluten-free cherry pie

... And then the humor of it when Abel feel apart from sheer exhaustion at dinner, and couldn't even eat it with us
- Finding a bat sleeping on the wall by the library
- Adrianna and Abel helping me feed Matthew his bottle
- Adrianna spending all afternoon working at her lap tray in her room
... And Abel wanting to give it a try to (and making it for five minutes)

- Bringing in the mini trampoline for the kids to use
... And Abel cracking me up by giving me this shot
- The kids playing so sweetly with Matthew
 - Abel trying out the "uke" again
 - Celebrating Family Day again a night later, after Scott's parents returned from their trip
... And Abel not falling apart
... And Abel not even wanting the cherry pie we made for him! :)
