From wild fire to security
The endless cycle of praising God... How grateful I am for His care while we left our home. I am not going to be able to record (or recall) all of the gifts of grace God's given me over the last week and a half, but I do want to list some of my favorite.
- Discovering that Ruthie is a trust-worthy off-leash dog, and enjoying her company
- Digging for worms
- Finding fun places to have snacks
- Entertaining ourselves in a small room
- Abel choosing a little time alone by climbing into his bed to read
- And Adrianna doing the same in her big-kid fashion
- Being able to do laundry away from home
- Adrianna collecting (and eating) everyone's "crunchy tails" from the trout dinner she and Grandpa caught
From Bonanza...
- Evacuating with my in-laws, their two goats, dog, cat, my two kids, two dogs, and a cat while Scott was away on a business trip
- Adrianna and Abel being troopers through the hours of packing and preparation and staying content while I drove them to Colorado
- My in laws helping me with my kids while Scott found a flight home
- Adrianna going fishing with her grandpa
- My mother-in-law volunteering to watch Abel for a couple of hours while Adrianna fished, so that I could be alone
- Abel being so grateful that we let him throw rocks in the river, and asking, "Throw rocks?" before each throw
- Hanging out with family, neighbors, and new friends while evacuated
- Adrianna getting a haircut from a new friend in a neighboring RV
- Abel death-clutching the ATV of a new friend after the ride was over, so that he wouldn't have to get off
- Adrianna and Abel getting to watch "Super Why" in bed, and Abel being so excited: "Watch 'Super Why'??"
- Being blessed with a beautiful place to evacuate, with plenty to keep our kids and our animals occupied
- Discovering that Ruthie is a trust-worthy off-leash dog, and enjoying her company
- Digging for worms
- Special moments with grandparents
- Laughing at Leo's favorite RV spots
- Being able to do laundry away from home
- Adrianna collecting (and eating) everyone's "crunchy tails" from the trout dinner she and Grandpa caught
More to come with part two of our journeys...
