Taos Adventure

View from the backyard of Casa Anna

As I mentioned earlier, we had the chance to visit Taos last weekend. My dad and Debbie met up with us at a house (called Casa Anna), and we stayed three nights. It always amazes me how fast time goes when you are on vacation! The break from cooking and housework was wonderfully restful, and the location was joyfully serene. The house backed to meadows and foothills, and was one of the most peaceful places I have ever stayed. (The house itself had issues: windows not opening, water damaging walls, well water stopping, etc.!) But the location left nothing to be desired.

We enjoyed our time swimming -- especially Adrianna, who discovered the confidence of arm floaties. And enjoyed the lovely galleries -- a birthday present is coming Debbie's way from a beautiful find there. We enjoyed the history at the 200-year-old Martinez Hacienda. And we enjoyed the restaurants -- yum from Bent Street Cafe (chicken cranberry salad) and Michael's Kitchen (breakfast enchilada). Apparently, the Taos Cow ice cream parlor was a highlight for Adrianna. She sat down there next to Debbie and said, "This is my favorite place." Debbie asked, "Why?" "Because they have ice cream!" And Adrianna also enjoyed the place area behind the Twirl toystore: big building blocks, pirates cove playhouse, steal drums, giant xylophones... what else could a kid want?!

And we can't forget another moment of fun... A tea party with Grandpa Bobby
