Crested Butte gifts

Before they become too far removed from my active memory, I wanted to jot God's gifts of grace from our time in Crested Butte.  We joined my dad and step-mom, my sister and brother-in-law, and their kids, at a large house to share the Fourth together.

- Abel enjoying salsa so much that he gave up using a chip and went straight to the scoop
- Grandma Debbie doing Club House, Jr. activities with Adrianna while we waited for our food
- A most spectacular view of God's creation from the back deck

- Grand-kids reading with grandparents

- A view of wild flowers from even the shower window

- Cousins sharing tables and meals together
- Riding the ski lift with our kids to the top of the ski area and hiking down

- Scott and me realizing that we cared so much for our kids and their safety, that we were a little intimidated riding the lift
- Cousins holding hands
- Breath-taking views of Crested Butte and the majesty of God's purple mountains

- Abel saying, "Ride, ride??" every time we passed a ski lift...
And then falling asleep before we got on the one to go down

- Toys being shared all around...
and the creative hands that made designs
- Taking the kids miniature golfing for the first time
-

- Adrianna's fearless rock-wall climbing

- Scott taking care of the kids while I was suffering from food poisoning

- Debbie and Catherine doing extra cooking and clean-up to feed the clan while I was in bed

- Being reminded of Jars of Clay's "Love Song for a Savior":
"In open fields of wild flowers, she breathes the air and flies away.
She thanks her Jesus for the daisies and the roses, in no simple language.
Some day she'll understand the meaning of it all..."

- Adrianna returning from a park trip with Scott to tell me she took pictures of the things she was thankful for... like these wild flowers

- Grandma Debbie leading the kids in a felt flag craft

- Grandpa Bob leading Bible study times
- Wild flowers picked by our beautiful girls
- A flag parade
- A family picture
- Scott and my dad taking Abel to the firefighters' pancake breakfast

- Scott's goofy side

- Adrianna's fearless trampoline jumps
- Adrianna's face painting
- Adrianna's determination to do a flag parade during our walk...

and her convincing Scott to play patriotic (of course, from the Fighting Texas Aggie Band) music on his phone during our "parade"

- Abel's spontaneous dancing
- Extra crafts with Grandma Debbie

- Abel curling up on my dad's arm chair to share trail mix after dinner...
and my dad saying, "How can he be hungry??"

- Adrianna's patriotic love notes
- Watching fireworks from the family room window

- Watching movies on streaming Netflix while I was sick

Comments

Wow!! WOW!! Words can not describe the incredible beauty there!

Beautifully captured and described too bringing much justice to God's creation you enjoyed.

So sorry that you were sick while there, especially after the week you had had before that! Yucky!

Wish SO much we could have been there with you on this trip! Thanks for sharing these gorgeous pictures!
