God's gifts 909-922

An extra from yesterday...
909. A volunteer coming to offer me her services for the summer children's program I'm putting together at church... The final person needed; she explained that God laid it on her heart

And from today...
910. Adrianna waking to tell me that she had been feeling nervous all night to start her swim class today, so she played Little House with her blankets while she couldn't sleep

911. Adrianna being far braver in her swim class than she ever swims with me

Together at last

In that delicious dim of late afternoon cloudy day, with thunder rolling in the distance, and the glow of premature artificial light, the children bubbled with joy.  I, too, had a hop in my step; even the usual dishes and laundry and scooping of the cat litter seemed no trouble, as I lingered in that cozy, moist atmosphere, of rain promised and rain fulfilled.  In our high country desert, with years of too little winter moisture to meet the requirements of even our shrubby plants, the moisture brings such deeply satisfying nourishment... not only to the plants, but to our spirits. And as school lingers just four more days before us, we enjoyed an afternoon homework-free -- and for the children, chore-free.  Even I had the benefit of dinner already prepared -- leftovers from my father-in-law's talented hands.  So I prompted the girls to invite their neighbor friend over, even invited her to stay for dinner and our special movie night.  And the boys played in th...

Home again!

Following about a dozen miracles (and probably many more I don't know about!), God brought Willy and me home, as scheduled, late on Friday, May 24. I've been too exhausted to update the blog sooner.  But here are some pictures from the last ten days since we've been back.

We're still here!  We've been going through family adjustments, bouts with ear infections and allergies, starting a new school year,  and raising funds for our third adoption.  God's been good -- as always -- and we're grateful for His answers to prayers, His provision, and His strength. Here are pictures from our trip to my dad and Debbie's condo last weekend.  It was such a beautiful time for our family to get a little rest and relaxation.
