God's gifts from His divine healing

Psalm 139: "You knit me together in my mother's womb.  I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made!" Since the end of May 2012, I have been unable to sit without tremendous back pain.  I've spent the last eight months trying various methods for relief, all the while becoming more desperate, as we look to travel for hours on an airplane to bring our new son home from Uganda. Looking back, I can see now how God orchestrated His purposes to bring me to my knees before him.  It started with the drive to the first injection in November, when I could hear Him whispering in my ear that the injection would not bring my healing, and that He had more he wanted to do for His glory . It continued as the scheduler from my doctor's office called to reschedule my injection that I was supposed to have January 31 (already rescheduled from January 17 ).  I broke out in tears on the phone with her, asking for her help, explaining to her the urgency of my situa...

God's gifts from Uganda

Beginning about a year ago, Scott and I realized that we needed to pray about adopting again.      The idea percolated when we asked Adrianna what she wanted for her birthday, and Adrianna said, "For you to adopt a new brother or sister for me?"  Scott and I just kind of looked at each other and smiled.  When we were alone later, we started toying with the thought.  Did we want to adopt again?  Were we called to adopt again? God's gifts in two years

Image
Today we celebrate two years since meeting our baby boy.  (See  Our long-awaited referral  for more.)  Two years since we first saw Abel's picture on our computer screen and Scott and I cried happy tears, knowing that we were staring into the face of our second child.  Two years since we spent a spring in agony, waiting for permission to pick up our child. Oh, what blessings since that day two years ago.  God brought us to the boy He chose for us.  He prepared him for our family and our family for him.  Two  years ago today, Scott and I "met" and fell in love with a picture of a boy -- our boy -- the one God chose. Happy referral-versary, Abel.  We love you.
